WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Dear Members and Friends of GPA/MD,
Adoptions are down everywhere and this has increased the number of Greyhounds needing
to be moved from various tracks across the U.S. Another concern is tracks that
have closed for the season where there are still many Greyhounds left in limbo.
Since January, 2006 our group has been bringing in extra Greyhounds and boarding them until homes
can be found. We have been successful in finding good homes in a reasonable amount of time and
our hope is to bring in more of these Greyhounds so they, too, can experience the joy of
becoming beloved companions. Foster homes are desperately needed in order for us to continue these
efforts.
If you are in a position to foster or you're thinking about adopting a new family member, please
let us know. If our foster dogs should incur medical expenses, we will pay those. We supply
heartworm meds, provide a crate if needed, and we will also pay for dog food. Our representatives
are always available for any questions or concerns. Working with Greyhounds and those who care
for them is important to us.
Our commitment to accept Greyhounds found in shelters and those from families who can no longer
keep them has not changed. Many of these dogs are older, have special needs, and are fortunate
to be well cared for in the foster homes we currently have.
Please help us further. There are so many track Greyhounds that have no place to go.
** Contact us if you can foster or are interested in adopting
** Talk to friends, relatives and coworkers who might be interested
** Continue to spread the word and give our website and phone number
** Support our efforts through donations (tax deductible)
To our dedicated volunteers and all of you who give us support and encouragement, we are deeply
grateful.
